Orangutans Near to Extinction

One of the planet’s most intelligent primates, the Orangutans, are near to meeting extinction.

According to a species assessment of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, the Bornean Orangutans are near to extinction and are highly in danger.

“This is full acknowledgement of what has been clear for a long time: Orangutan conservation is failing,” Andrew Marshall, one of the assessment’s authors, told Mongabay this week.
