Robredo: Yes To Housing Post
President Rodrigo Duterte has offered Vice President Leni Robredo a cabinet post as head of the Housing and Urban Development Council (HUDCC), and Robredo said “yes”.
Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II announced yesterday that the President called the Vice President yesterday during a live broadcast over government station PTV-4 to offer the post.
“He asked the Vice President if she would accept a Cabinet post, that of HUDCC. We did not hear the answer of the VicePresident, but from the face of President Duterte, we knew that the Vice President accepted the offer,” Aguirre said.
Other former Vice Presidents like Jejomar Binay and Noli de Castro were also given the HUDCC and other housing-related agencies.
“Many of the Cabinet members are happy (about) the development. At last the Vice President is no longer an elected officer without a Cabinet post,” Aguirre added.
Robredo noted that advocacies related to housing were also a thing of her late husband and former interior secretary Jesse Robredo.
“Maisasakatuparan ito at mabibigyan ang mga nasa laylayan sa pakikipagtulungan ng lahat,” Robredo said.
