Police shot dead a suspected drug lord when he resisted arrest during a raid in his house in Sitio San Isidro, Barangay Perrelos in Carcar City at 10:25 a.m. Saturday.

Police identified the slain suspect as Dionesio “Jojo” Alesna Racho of Barangay Perrelos, Carcar City.

Alesna allegedly resisted arrest when operatives from the Cebu Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) raided the house of his live-in partner, where he was also staying.

Racho allegedly pulled out his .45 pistol after operatives identified themselves, and that prompted them to fire at him.

Recovered from the scene were one small sachet and five big packs of shabu.

Racho was out on bail after he was arrested last year for allegedly violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Carcar Police Station Chief Supt. Alvin Balio confirmed that Racho was included on the watch list of drug personalities at the station’s level. (PNA) RMA/EB/SSC
