Cebu Business Month Grand Opening Salvo
Once again, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) kicked off this year’s Cebu Business Month (CBM) at the Ayala Terraces last June 1 to much fanfare and celebration. The Grand Opening Salvo commenced with a festive rendition of Cebu’s theme song “Cebu where the heart sings.”
In regards to this year’s theme “Digital Cebu,” CCCI President Melanie Ng said it concerned CBM’s goal to inspire “local businesses to tap into digital technology to boost their competitiveness in global economy.”
“Digital technology has profoundly changed the way we live, profoundly changed the way we do business, the way we work and the way we socialize. It has altered societal norms and continues to impact virtually all business functions and industries. It has offered new ways, particularly, for the SMEs to connect, collaborate, conduct business and to build bridges between people. It has indeed touched the core of all business functions and even the way organizations communicate and are managed,” Ms Melanie Ng continued.
For this year’s Cebu Business Month, the use of digital technology in businesses, tourism in Cebu, SME entrepreneurship and food safety will be highlighted. Events that will showcase these themes will be the Tourism Forum on June 16 at the Marco Polo Hotel; Food Safety Conference on June 16-17 along with an exhibit at the Robinsons Galleria on the same dates; and the Entrepreneurship Technology and Innovation Expo on June 22-24 at the Robinsons Galleria.
