Butuan City Gears Up For The “Balangai Festival 2016”

The Butuan City government, in coordination with the Butuan City Tourism Council, is gearing up for the forthcoming “Balangai Festival 2016.”

A statement released by the City public information office released to the media outlets here, a coordination meeting was held on Monday attended by the representatives from the Butuan City Police Office, City Health Office, Land Transportation and Traffic Management Office, City Tourism Council, City Tourism Office, City Engineers’ Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and the Civil Security Units at the City Tourism Council Office.

Among the matters discussed during the meeting was the preparation for the formal opening of the “Balangai Festival” on May 2, 2016.

Included in the activities which were discussed was the motorcade at 4:00 p.m. on May 2 (Monday) which will start at J. Rosales Ave., this city and may culminate at the Guingona Park.

The festival opening program will be held at the said venue, among the highlights of which will be the introduction of the 10 “Mutya Hong Butuan 2016” candidates, the unveiling of the “Balangai Festival Calendar of Activities,” and the opening of a carnival at the proposed SM Grounds, J.C. Aquino Ave., this city.

For the safety of the public, security measures were in placed spearheaded by the City PNP. A medical station will also be placed near the venue of the festival opening. (PNA) RMA/NOEL B. NAJARRO/EDS
