Kahirapan Comprehensive And Integrated Delivery Of Social Services – Millennium Challenge Corporation (KC-MCC) Bags Best Implemented Project Award

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 7, earlier today, received an award from the Regional Development Council (RDC-7) for its implementation of the Kapit Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services – Millennium Challenge Corporation (KC-MCC).

DSWD 7 Regional Director Ma. Evelyn B. Macapobre accepted the Best Implemented Project 2015 Award for KC-MCC in today’s RDC meeting in Cebu City.

The DSWD Region 7 has been implementing Kalahi-CIDSS MCC since 2011 in the provinces of Bohol and Negros Oriental, which is now part of the Negros Island Region (NIR).

A total of 716 Kalahi-CIDSS community sub-projects in 25 municipalities in the region were funded by the MCC with a total funding support of Php 641,237,493.50.

The sub-projects include day care centers, school buildings, water systems, drainage facilities and basic access facilities like Farm to Market Roads, footpaths and footbridges.

Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS) is a community-driven development project implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
