Frontline Services Rage Barangay Duljo Fatima
Another barangay benefited from the free services of the Cebu City Government’s Frontline Cluster Services through the ‘City Hall at Your Doorstep’ program of Mayor Michael Rama.
For the Fifth time around since the program started in 2010, the activity was successfully held in Barangay Duljo Fatima extending helping hands to its residents today March 15, 2016 Tuesday.
Thousands of Duljoanons flocked to their Sports Complex to avail of the free services. One of them was Lolo Guillermo Mabuting, 69, who availed of the Blood Typing and Medical Consultation.
In an interview with the BARUGG News, Lolo Guillermo stressed that the activity is of great help the people especially the less fortunate. He said, “Maayo ni kay naa na gyod dinhi sa among barangay ang mga serbisyo (This is great because the services are accessible right in our doorsteps).”
Meanwhile, among the services rendered were medical and dental consultations with free medicines, random blood sugar testing, blood typing, feeding for children, Cedula issuance and anti-rabies vaccination for dogs and cats.
Other services offered were the repair and installation of street lights and artesian wells, consultation on traffic issues and concerns, consultations on the ‘Let there be Light Program’ and urban poor related issues, free hair cutting, job placement referral, pruning and trimming of trees, consultation on drug related issues, and vaccinations for flu and pneumonia prevention, among several others.
Mayor Rama aims to bring the services of the 22 departments comprising the city government closer to the people and avail it for free sans going to the Cebu City Hall. The program has become institutionalized.
Barangay Duljo Fatima officials and workers led by Captain Elmer Abella also showed support for the huge success of the half-day activity. The village has at least 17,670 residents living in at least 36 Sitios. It is located in the city’s South District and about 20 to 30 minutes away from the Cebu City Hall.
