8 Antique Towns To Start Skills Training Under TESDA’s BUB

Eight towns in Antique province that have signified interest to avail the Bottom Up Budgeting (BUB) through the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will soon start their training.

Karyn Mae M. Duay, TESDA Antique Senior Specialist, said that as their agency made available PHP8.6-million budget for the eight towns of Barbaza, Laua-an, Libertad, Pandan, Patnongon, San Jose, Sibalom, and Valderrama, the skills training could start any time soon.

Barbaza is given a funding of PHP500,000 for its proposed training on hilot of 100 beneficiaries and an equal amount for its dressmaking training on 167 persons.

Laua-an has been given PHP958,500 for its carpentry, masonry and single unit plumbing with a total beneficiaries of 117. The municipality has also been allocated PHP501, 680 for its gas/diesel tune up, service engine and mechanical components training that will have 164 residents to benefit. Training for hilot is also allocated PHP501,840 for its 68 beneficiaries.

Libertad will undertake furniture making training on its two barangays with a funding of PHP567,000 benefiting 70 people and another barangay with PHP729,000 with 90 beneficiaries.

Pandan is allocated PHP500,000 for pipe-fitting undertaken by 62 beneficiaries, SMAW with another PHP500,000 benefiting 50 individuals and hilot with PHPp500,000 funding for 67 persons.

Patnongon has been given PHP500,000 for skills training on poultry raising with 98 beneficiaries and San Jose the Buenavista with PHP700,000 for bread making and other food processing to benefit 156 persons.

Sibalom is receiving funding of PHP850,000 for welding, carpentry, tile setting and others for 99 individuals while Valderrama is given PHP800,000 fund for manicure, facial make up, haircutting and many more skills to benefit 165 persons.(PNA) FFC/AJP/LPT
