‘May The Best Person Win On May 9’ – PDP-LABAN President

With the presidential cast now complete, PDP-LABAN president Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel expressed hope that the best and most qualified person win in the May 9 polls.

This, after the Supreme Court (SC) en banc on Tuesday voted 9-6 which overturned the disqualification case against independent presidential candidate Sen. Grace Poe.

While surprised at the High Court’s decision, Pimentel said he is happy for Poe.

“May the best person win on May 9,” he added, noting that the SC decision has no effect at all on PDP-Laban standard bearer Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign.

“We never based our plans on the assumption that Poe would be disqualified on questions regarding her citizenship and residency,” Pimentel said.

He also added that Duterte, who is running for the highest elective post with Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano as his vice presidential candidate, has a coherent platform that addresses the main concerns of Filipinos today, which are crime, corruption and poverty.

“We believe the Duterte-Cayetano’s platform of “Tunay na Pagbabago” will gain the support of more Filipinos as we approach the May election and we are confident that we will prevail once all the votes have been counted,” Pimentel said. (PNA) JMC/PFN/CLTC
