DPWH Opens Summer Job For Youth
College students and out-of-school youth are welcomed to participate in the summer government internship program (GIP) of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson said the DPWH Head Office will accept another batch of 50 interns for learn and work experience in government this summer which will be provided with daily stipend 75% of the minimum wage in the National Capital Region (NCR).
“With this program, we join other government agencies in helping economically disadvantaged youth who are in need of support for their schooling, at the same time giving them the opportunity to become public servants,” said Singson.
College student or out-of-school youth with minimum of second year college education; first time GIP participant in the DPWH; 18-23 years old; and computer literate will be considered for the program.
Interested applicants are requested to submit one (1) photocopy of birth certificate; fully-accomplished bio-data or personal data sheet; and two (2) recent 1×1 ID photos to the DPWH Capacity Development Division, Human Resource and Administrative Service, 5th Floor, DPWH Head Office Building, Bonifacio Drive, Port Area, Manila not later than March 15, 2016.
A written examination shall be conducted for the selection of the 50 interns who will be working in the DPWH for two (2) months starting April 6, 2016. (DPWH)
