2-Time Filipino Olympian Carlos Loyzaga Dies At 85
Carlos “The Big Difference” Loyzaga, the two-time Olympian who led the Philippines to third place at the 1954 FIBA World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, has passed away at the age of 85, according to reports.
Chito Loyzaga, who along with his brother Joey followed his father footsteps, confirmed the death of his father in a radio dzBB interview on Wednesday.
Few years after leading a Philippine team to a bronze medal finish in 1954, Loyzaga lived in Australia and returned to the Philippines for good only in 2013.
Aside from Chito and Joey, Loyzaga’s two other children are actresses Bing and Teresa. (PNA) BNB/JFM
