PhilHealth Kapihan Series Capped 2015 With Discussions On New Policies
Reporters from 22 quad-media outfits attended the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation’s (PhilHealth) fourth and last Kapihan with the PCEO for 2015 in Pasig City.
PhilHealth President and Chief Executive Officer Alexander A. Padilla discussed the new policies for pneumonia and cataract extraction to prevent fraudulent practices that could affect the health insurance funds. The new policies took effect in 2015.
Padilla admitted that efforts to inform PhilHealth’s members and dependents about their entitlements through quad media may not be enough, thus, he encouraged media practitioners to be advocates of PhilHealth.
“Nilalayon namin na maging advocate kayo ng PhilHealth at maipamalas ang inyong kaalaman para sa kapakanan ng ating mga kababayan,” he said.
Questions raised by media touched on the kasambahay premium contribution, contracted hospitals for Colon and Rectum Cancers, benefits for firecracker injuries and challenges faced by PhilHealth in 2015.
Among the media outfits that were represented in the Kapihan are the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Philippines News Agency, Manila Bulletin, The Manila Times, Business Mirror, Bulgar, Balita, Remate, Pilipino Mirror, Pinoy Parazzi, Dyaryo Pinoy, Vital Signs, Media ng Bayan, PTV-4, TV5, DZIQ, RMN, Radyo Agila, DWBL, DWIZ, DZRJ, bloomberg.ph and diaryongtagalog.net.
Kapihan with the PCEO is a regular activity which aims to bring PhilHealth’s media partners “up close and personal” with President and CEO Padilla and keep them up-to-date on the latest developments on PhilHealth programs and services. (PNA) SCS/PR/EBP
