‘Cambinocot’ Manually Transmits ER

Precint Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machine of Cambinocot precinct encountered a transmission failure which prompts authorities to shift to manual transmission by removing the memory card of the PCOS machine.

Because of the difficulty in transmitting election returns (ER), the Cambinocot ballot box was placed an the center of the social hall to get a better signal in transmitting the election returns but it however, failed.

BEI chairman Alona M. Serenobis did the removal of the memory card of the PCOS machine precinct of Cambinocot. Serenobis’ move in removing the memory card of the machine was explained step by step by COMELEC Cebu City South District Officer Ferdinand Gujilde.

“This is very technical, she is going to open the main compartment of the memory card using her thumb and forefinger and she travels by steps to the spot going to the CCS operator, by holding the memory card with her thumb and forefinger” Comelec Ferdinand Gujilde said.

After the memory card was removed, BEI Chairman Serenobis handed over the card to CCS operator Bernard Delos Reyes for the manual transmission of election returns.

CCS operator Bernard Delos Reyes assures everyone that the transmission has been done successfully by showing the 100% status of the transmission of the Cambinocot precinct.

Cambinocot precinct had a total of 972 registered voters. The said precinct was the last to transmit the election returns and its result determines the Vice Mayoralty slot and 3 other councilors of Cebu City.

Cambinocot sparred the slot for Cebu City Councilor Edgardo Labella of Team Rama the Vice Mayoralty position with only 184 vote lead against Joy Young of BOPK.

Labella garnered 203,267 votes, while Young had 203,083 votes.
