Cotabato City Peace, Order Council Lauds Security Sector For Successful, Peaceful Yuletide Season

For the successful implementation of law and order in the city that helped developed friendly business climate, the Cotabato City, through the peace and order council, had recognized and honored government law enforcement agencies, officials said today.

During the meeting, the military announced the deployment of more military personnel to “fill in the gap” left by the pullout of about 112 police officers from the city and redeployed to police regional office in Gen. Santos City in December.

Mayor Japal Guiani Jr, CPPOC chairperson, commended the police and military forces in the city during the CPPOC meeting on Tuesday.

Aside from police and military sector, Guiani also lauded the participation of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, village officials, highway patrol groups and the public in general.

Guiani said the concerted efforts of all security sectors, the business community, village chairpersons and village watchmen, have resulted to a peaceful celebration of Christmas and New Year.

Citiy Vice Mayor Hadji Abdullah Andang said the participation of civilians in the campaign for peace and stability in the city must also be recognize “because they played vital roles in our society.”

Senior Inspector Raul Supeter, Cotabato City police director, also lauded all the police officers under him “for a job well done.”

Colonel Ranulfo Sevilla, chief of the 5th Special Forces Battalion, announced during the meeting that more forces have been deployed in the city and its periphery to secure it from lawless elements.

Sevilla called on the Cotabatenios to continue helping the police and Army in fighting lawless groups who have been crating trouble in the city. (PNA) FPV/NYP/EOF
