Construction of Medium-Rise Condos for Cebu City Hall Workers Starts Next Month

The construction of the medium-rise socialized housing condominium for Cebu City Hall employees at the Phase 2B of Sugbo Homes, in Nivel Hills, Barangay Lahug, this city, will start next month.

Lawyer Dominic Diño, chairman of the board of directors of Cebu City Government Employees Housing Cooperative (CCGEHC), said the project is expected to be completed within 12 months.

Diño said the four-story, 60-unit housing project, will benefit 60 employees of the city, who don’t own their own houses yet.

Diño is currently chief of staff of Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama.

He said some 700 employees who are members of CCGEHC are qualified to avail of the housing project, which is in partnership between the city and Singaporean developer Wei Kiat Management and Development Corp.

Diño said beneficiaries may apply for a housing loan before the Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) or Pag-ibig Fund to acquire one unit.

Each unit is estimated to cost at least PHP450,000 since the lot is owned by the city.

Diño said CCGEHC will draft the guidelines for those who will get units in the project to make sure those employees with no houses will the priority. (PNA) FFC/EB/EDS
