Cloudy, Rainy in Most Parts of PHL Due to ITCZ
(PNA) — Many parts of the country will continue to experience cloudy skies with rains on Thursday due to the presence of Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) Wednesday.
The ITCZ affecting Visayas, Mindanao and Palawan, which is the thick clouds coming from the south of Asia, is considered a breeding ground for low-pressure areas (LPAs) or potential cyclones.
For Thursday forecast, PAGASA said the presence of ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Visayas, Mindanao and the province of Palawan.
It added partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila.
The state weather bureau also said light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast to east will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the southwest over Mindanao.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate. (PNA) JBP/CLTC
