Incumbent Mayor Mike Rama was proclaimed Mayor by the Chairman of Board of Canvassers, Ferdinand Gujilde on Tuesday afternoon at the Social Hall of the Cebu City Hall.

Rama won by 217, 488 votes over his rival Tomas “Tommy” Osmeña who got 211, 072 votes.

Gujilde said that there are still 3 more precinct in Cebu City that have not transmitted yet because of the defected compact flash cards.

According to Gujilde, even if there is 100% turnout in these 3 clustered precincts and all votes will be cast in favor of the candidate with the second highest votes, it can no longer overcome the majority obtained by the candidate with the highest number of votes.

Gujilde handed the certificate of canvass of votes and proclamation to Mayor Rama.

After the proclamation, Rama immediately went straight to Basilica del Sto. Niño together with his son Mikel Rama to attend a mass for his overwhelming victory.

“Thank God and to all mighty, Sr. Sto. Niño, San Pedro Calungsod, Birhen sa Guadalupe ug sa tanan mga tao” Rama said.

Rama also added “Daku kaayo na responsibilidad ato ibalik sa mga katawhan, tabangi ko ninyo and we can make things happen.”
