ITCZ Brings Rains over Mindanao
(PNA) — Most parts of Mindanao will continue to experience cloudy skies with rains due to the presence of Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) Friday.
ITCZ is the thick clouds coming from the south of Asia and is considered a breeding ground for low-pressure areas (LPAs) or potential cyclones.
In its Friday forecast, PAGASA said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will prevail over Mindanao, Mimaropa and the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and Rizal while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
It added light to moderate winds blowing from the southeast to south will prevail over Luzon and coming from the south to southwest over the rest of the country.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate. (PNA) JBP/CLTC
