Some PCOS Machines Malfunctioned

At the first hours of the elections, there were already reports of malfunctioning Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines in some areas of Lapu-Lapu City.

PCOS machines at clusters 94 and 96 in Looc Elementary School, Lapu-Lapu City, at past 1p.m. were experiencing problems, said Jonji Gonzalez, the city’s spokesperson. Minutes after, 30 more machines were malfunctioning, but 16 went normal again, he said.

Earlier today, cluster 85 of Gun-ob National High School had also conked out due to paper jam. Gonzales said that while this happened, clusters went to manual while waiting for the PCOS machines to function again.
