Magnitude 4.3 Quake Jolts Zamboanga del Norte
A magnitude 4.3 earthquake shook the province of Zamboanga del Norte on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
In its bulletin, the agency said the tremor occurred at 1:23 p.m. with its epicenter traced at 42 kilometers northwest of Labason in Zamboanga Del Norte.
The tremor, which was tectonic in origin, had a shallow depth of 23 kilometers.
No intensity was reported as the agency noted that there was no casualty nor damage reported from the quake.
The agency also said it does not expect aftershocks from it.
The Philippines lies on the Pacific Ring of Fire, where 20 to 25 earthquakes per day — mostly imperceptible — are common. (PNA) CTB/CLTC
