Around 20,000 international job vacancies are being offered by at least 31 licensing agencies that will participate in the overseas job fair this coming June 28 at the Cebu Provincial Capitol Social Hall.

The available overseas jobs include skilled workers (welding, scaffolder, electrician, painter, and laborer), medical workers (nurse, doctor and nursing aide), factory workers, sales representatives, hotel workers (receptionist, housekeeping, waiter and waitress) restaurant crew and teachers, among others.

Over 20 countries identified as job destinations include Australia, United Kingdom, Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia,Taiwan,Brunei, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Tanzania, Mozambique, Ghana , Congo, Turks and Caicos, Oman, and Suriname.

Provincial Employment and Services Office (PESO) Labor and Employment Officer III Julius M. Chua, said that this is the second international job fair for 2015. There are also more vacancies for the Cebuanos who are dreaming to work abroad.

On Friday, June 27, there will be an advance screening for those applicants who have registered for the said job fair, Chua said. Advanced screening will shorten the registration process by three steps and allow these applicants to directly choose the position they will apply for on the actual job fair day this June 28 (Saturday).

However, walk in applicants can still register on June 28 but will follow the three step registration process” Chua added.

The PESO Capitol is optimistic that more applicants will be hired in this overseas job fair. Prospective employers will send representatives to personally conduct the interview.

After two decades of serving the people in the province, thousands of applicants have found employment both here and abroad. Every year PESO Capitol conducts three overseas job fairs and another three local job fairs.

The Cebu Provincial Government, through PESO, organized the event with the help of Department of Labor and Employment and Philippine Overseas Employment Administration.
