Talisay City Mayor Johnny de los Reyes (Also known as JVR) is contemplating to file charges against Talisay City Police Officials for allegedly fabricating Arson charges against him.

Last Monday, JVR was charged with Arson for setting a blaze an impounded cargo truck parked in front of Talisay City Police office.

In a statement, the mayor described the charge as “foul play’ for reportedly using a fabricated evidence to indict him.

” If my detractors are trying to put me down, people will never believe that a Talisay Mayor would ever
do such an act. With my power and status, why will i do such low level act that would easily be seen by the public?, JVR said during a press conference at his office on Thursday.

The Mayor stressed that he could easily hire somebody to do it for him, but that is not his personality.

JVR also added that he is hoping that all who did this to him would be enlightened and gave unsolicited advice to
read and reflect on the Bible’s Psalm 35.

Also on Thursday, City Legal Officer, Atty. Alfredo Sipalay, presented to the media the counter affidavit of complainant Edwin Manalo that he is willing to negate the alleged fabricated affidavit used by the police against the mayor.

Last March 15, Manalo reportedly went to the mayor’s residence in Bulacao to confess that he never saw him near the truck.
