Ducayag’s Mother Files plaints vs PNP Medico-Legal Officer
The mother of Mario Alfie Ducayag earlier today filed criminal charges against the medico-legal officer of the PNP for alleged obstruction of justice and falsification of public document, among others.
Fe Soledad Ducayag of Tuyam, City of Naga, through her legal counsel Wendel Quiban, filed before the office of Cebu City prosecutor Nicolas Sellon her criminal complaints against Dr. Nestor Sator, medico-legal officer of PNP, for obstruction of justice and for violation of Article 174(1) of Revised Penal Code for issuing a false medical certificate or falsification of public document. Doctor Sator autopsied the body of Fe Soledad’s son, Mario Alfie.
A separate administrative complaint was also filed by Ducayag before Ombudsman Pelagio Apostol for grave misconduct and conduct unbecoming of a public officer.
Ducayag alleged that her son’s bruises do not match the results of Sator’s autopsy. This claim was earlier given weight by a separate autopsy conducted by Dr. Rene Cam, medico-legal officer of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) 7, which suggested that there was foul play in the victim’s death following severe injuries in his neck.
Mario Alfie, 23, was accused by Metro Gaisano’s security personnel of stealing a pair of slippers last April 12. He was questioned because of the allegation, and allegedly collapsed and died. Sator’s investigation revealed that he died of asphyxia due to pulmonary tuberculosis.
