PAGASA: Trough of LPA Brings Rains over Mindanao

(PNA) — Most parts of the country, except Mindanao, will continue to experience generally fair weather on Tuesday.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather forecaster Alvin Pura said the trough or extended cloudiness of a low pressure area (LPA) affecting Mindanao will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms within the next two to three days in the area.

Pura said the LPA has a slim chance to enter the country or develop into a tropical cyclone.

Meanwhile, Pura said the northeast monsoon continues to be the dominant weather system affecting the regions of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and Ilocos.

These areas will experience cloudy skies with light rains while the rest of the country including Metro Manila will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

In its advisory, PAGASA said moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over extreme Northern Luzon and coming from the east to northeast over the eastern section of the country.

The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to occasionally rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas.

The weather bureau also has not issued gale warning so fisherfolks are safe to venture over the seas. (PNA) FPV/LAM/CLTC
