Obama Lauds Pakistan’s Anti-Terror Actions

Islamabad — U.S. President Barrack Obama on Thursday spoke to Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and lauded Pakistan’s actions against terrorism, state television reported.

The two leaders talked for 30 minutes and discussed security situation in the region with particular emphasis on Afghanistan, PTV reported.

The U.S. president also hailed the growing relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

On his part, Prime Minister Sharif opposed a permanent UN Security Council seat for India. “India does not qualify for the permanent UNSC seat,” the prime minister said. (PNA/Xinhua) FFC/EBP
