8 Romantic Valentine’s Day Date Ideas
Valentine’s is here! So here are some great ideas to help you out on February 14.
1. Night Picnic + Stargazing
For the super-romantic girl, grab a picnic hamper, drive out to the outskirts of the city (or at least some place from where the night sky is in clear view) and have a romantic date lying down on the grass and looking up at the starlit sky. Turn up the romantic quotient by playing some soft music and holding her hands.
2. Day Picnic + Long Walks
An outdoorsy girl will ALWAYS prefer a picnic date over a meal at the restaurant or the mall. Pack your hamper and take her to the most picturesque part of your city – the beach, the lakeside, a sprawling park or beautiful ruins. A long walk is not only one of the most romantic things a couple can do (for reference, check out almost any movie), it will also work up a great appetite for that picnic.
3. Movie Marathon + Pizza Delivery
If you have a low-maintenance and easy-going girlfriend, she would have absolutely no qualms about spending Valentine’s Day at home – watching movies and eating pizza. Just make sure the choice of movies is something both of you enjoy, as well as the pizza toppings!
4. Extra Special Dinner At Home
You will impress the socks off your homely girlfriend if you actually planned an amazing dinner at home yourself. Place the table at the terrace or balcony, fairy lights and flowers for décor and smooth music for the ambiance. In fact, if you top it off by cooking the meal yourself instead of ordering in – you just won the trophy for the best boyfriend ever.
5. Karaoke For Two + A Lot Of Wine
For the musically-inclined girlfriend, you could not plan a better Valentine’s evening than this. You don’t even need a Karaoke machine; there are many websites out there that render it useless. Battle with each other or sing duets – with healthy doses of wine to improve performance!
6. Drinks At Home, Dinner Outside, Dessert On The Way Back
If your girl is the regular kind who would always prefer going to ‘someplace nice’ for a dinner date than doing anything else, the most you could do is load up on the booze before getting there so you don’t have to pay atrocious prices. Just order the main course there, and skip dessert. Take her to a pretty bakery to pamper her sweet tooth – a much cheaper option, and it gives you another place to go.
7. Check Out Local Artists
For the hipster girlfriend, keep a lookout for band performances in town. Not only will she appreciate checking out some fresh talent, but the tickets to such shows will be pretty cheap too. If they suck, you could probably drink till they sound better.
8. Do Something Sporty
If your girl is an adventurous type, plan a date accordingly. The options are almost limitless – go bowling, plan a trek and what not. Money is not at all a factor when it comes to having a great time with her, adrenaline is.
