(PNA) — Northern Luzon will experience light to moderate rains while the rest of Luzon including Metro Manila, the Visayas and Mindanao will have light rains and thunderstorms due to the northeast monsoon Tuesday.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said due to northeast monsoon affecting Luzon, the regions of Cagayan Valley and Cordillera will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains.

The agency also issued gale warning as strong to gale force wind affecting the seaboards of Northern Luzon.

“Fisherfolks and those using small seacraft are advised not to venture out to the said seaboards,” it warned.

Aurelio said the weather bureau continues to monitor the low pressure area (LPA) which is still active but is no longer affecting the country.

He said as of 4 a.m. the LPA was spotted some 135 km east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan (17.6˚N, 123.0˚E).

Aurelio said the LPA has aslim chance to reintensify into a tropical cyclone and also is expected to dissipate.

He noted within the next three days they not seen any weather disturbance affecting the country.

PAGASA also said moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to north will prevail over Luzon and coming from northeast to east over Visayas and Mindanao with moderate to rough seas. (PNA) FPV/CLTC
