Cagayan De Oro City (PNA) — The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) unveiled a historical marker here on Tuesday to acknowledge the city government’s revolutionary role in the 1800s.

Ludovico D. Badoy, Executive Director of the NHCP, who led the unveiling of the marker, said that marker depicts the “raising of the revolutionary flag” on January 10, 1899 at the “Casa Real of Cagayan De Misamis.”

The Cagayan De Misamis was later renamed as Cagayan De Oro City.

The marker is located in front of the City Hall building along General Capistrano and Jose Gaerlan Streets.

Among those who witnessed the unveiling ceremonies were the new generation of known native Cagayanon families who were introduced by Catalino Chan, regional director of the Department of Tourism. (PNA) LGI/CD/ERCEL MAANDIG/JSD
