In its quest to equip the local food industry in Cebu with the right knowledge to withstand any competition that may come on next year’s ASEAN Economic Integration, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) through the Cebu Food Consultancy Group (CFCG) is currently offering trainings and consultancy services not just to its member companies but to all food sectors.

The CFCG is specifically organized to assist the Food Sector in achieving a competitive edge in the global food safety standards and is accepting enrollees for its Food Technology Services Course specializing in Bakery or Butchery which has systematic compilation of various modules on the required competencies for an in-line production worker in a food processing company utilizing a dual system, alternating theoretical and practical approach.

In fact, inline workers from Anita’s Home Bakeshop are presently undergoing trainings on Food Safety and Food Technology modules and a Specialized Course in Bakery at the Philippine School of Culinary Arts. While fifteen inline workers from San Jose Bakeshop were the first batch of graduates who successfully completed the trainings last October of this year.

These undertakings are part of the “Optimizing and Upscaling Roles in the Food Supply Chain” project or known as OURFood project of CCCI, AFOS Foundation and the Department of Science and Technology.

For further inquiries, one may call CCCI at 232-1421 to 24 local 109 and look for Karen Autor.
