PAGASA: Rainy Wednesday Over Eastern PHL from Monsoon as LPA Draws Near

PAGASA said moderate rain is expected in parts of Mindanao, Bicol and Northern Luzon on Wednesday, due to a tail-end of a cold front affecting Northern and Central Luzon, and the Northeast Monsoon affecting Extreme Northern Luzon.

In its 5 p.m. bulletin, Tuesday, PAGASA also said a low-pressure area hovered some 150 km east of Zamboanga City as of 4 p.m.

It added that Mindanao, Bicol region, Eastern Visayas and the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms.

It also added also added that Batanes, Babuyan and Calayan islands, Cordillera, Ilocos region, the rest of Central Luzon, the rest of Cagayan Valley will have cloudy skies with light rain.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, it said.

Moderate to strong winds from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough, PAGASA said. In some parts of the country, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas.

Meanwhile, PAGASA warned a strong to gale-force winds associated with the surge of Northeast Monsoon may affect the seaboards of Northern and Central Luzon. The northern seaboard of northern Luzon and the western seaboard of Northern and Central Luzon includes Batanes, Calayan, Babuyan, northern coast of Cagayan, northern coast of Ilocos, La Union, Pangasinan, Bataan and Zambales, it added.

The eastern seaboard of Northern and Central Luzon includes Isabela, eastern coast of Cagayan and Aurora.

Seas there will be rough to very rough, with waves reaching 3.4 to 4.5 meters.

It also advised fishing boats and other small seacrafts not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.
