Palma Seeks Continued Support for Yolanda Survivors

Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma is seeking continued assistance for the victims and survivors of typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan) even beyond the the first anniversary of the calamity.

In a report by GMA Cebu’s Alan Domingo on Friday, the former head of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) said life still has meaning despite what happened.

“Despite what happened, life (still has) meaning. Sa kabila ng mga nangyari, life is still worth living and I think that’s what we are telling people. There’s time, magtulungan tayo,” Palma said.

The archbishop also called for prayers for those who died in Yolanda’s wake, as well as for those whose livelihood were affected by the country’s strongest typhoon.

Yolanda devastated Visayas, including Cebu, leaving more than 6,000 dead in its wake.
