PNP Safety Tips for the Holidays

As Filipinos are expected to flock to the cemeteries on November 1 and 2, to pay respects to their departed loved ones, the Philippine National Police (PNP) posted on Thursday safety tips in an infographic on its Twitter account. The PNP reminded residents to secure their homes before leaving for the cemeteries.

Among the tips were:

1. Don’t let many people know that no one will be in the house, to prevent burglars from targeting your home.
2. Make sure all doors are locked and windows closed.
3. Do not leave appliances plugged in, or candles lit or your stove unattended.
4. Install a burglar alarm.
5. Close the curtains to prevent people from peeking into the house.
6. Inform a trusted neighbor or friend on when you will return.
