Top 10 Most Embarrassing Body Problems
No matter how seemingly content we are with our bodies, there is always something that makes us uncomfortable, insecure or worried. Here is a list of things that you may be too shy to talk about with your friends and how you can deal with them:
Smelly feet
Yes, it happens to the best of us! The combination of sweat plus the normal bacteria or fungi in our skin equals smelly feet.
Tips:
- Wash and dry your feet daily.
- Wear clean socks.
- Put on foot powder.
- Wear a different pair of shoes daily to air them out.
Body odor
This is definitely a 10 in the embarrassment scale. It is a major concern especially for teenagers, when hormonal changes and activity levels are at their highest.
Tips:
- Bathe daily.
- Wear antiperspirant and deodorants.
- Change shirts often.
- Stay away from fatty and spicy foods.
Bad breath
Ever saw a commercial where a guy says “Hi!” to a girl and the girl runs away? That’s bad breath for you! This may be caused by dental cavities, gum problems, a dry mouth, a spicy-food diet, smoking, respiratory problems, and acid reflux.
Tips:
- Brush after every meal and floss daily.
- Take sips of water every once in a while.
- Refrain from spicy food, soda, and caffeine.
- Stop smoking.
Pimples (Acne)
When meeting a person for the first time, the first thing they notice is our face or our pimples! Pimples used to be blamed on hormones, chocolate, greasy foods, dirty skin, and stress.
Tips:
- Keep your face clean.
- Drink at least 10 glasses of water a day.
- Consume fruits and vegetables.
- Avoid stress.
- Avoid popping those zits.
Dark underarms
For women, having dark armpits means not being able to wear sleeveless blouses, strapless gowns, or bathing suits.
Tips:
- Wax instead of shave.
- Use mild antiperspirants and deodorants.
- Wear shirts that don’t rub your skin.
Facial Hair
Although guys might feel more macho with facial hair, girls are bothered having it.
Tips:
- Bleaching
- Waxing
- Laser removal
Being overweight
Men and women alike feel conscious about their double chins, muffin tops, and flabby arms.
Tips:
- Eat more fruits and vegetables.
- Put down that gadget and exercise (brisk walk, bike, or run for 150 minutes a week)
- Drink water instead of soda or coffee.
- Get quality sleep.
Passing out gas
All too often, smack in the middle of a date or an important meeting, you feel your tummy rumble and the urge to pass out gas.
Tips:
- Avoid chewing gum.
- Limit dry fruits, legumes, carrots, eggplants, onion, cabbage, and dairy products.
- Refrain from taking laxatives.
Hemorrhoids
Having hemorrhoids is painful, affects the way you sit and walk, and if it bleeds, leaves a stain in your pants! Not to worry, hemorrhoids are generally manageable.
Tips:
- Increase fiber in your diet.
- Drink at least 10 glasses of water a day.
- Exercise daily.
- Avoid prolonged sitting.
- Sit in warm water for 15 minutes/three times a day.
Genital discharge
Of the 10 in this list, genital discharge is the scariest of them all. In women, it might be a simple yeast infection or a sexually transmitted disease. On the other hand, in men, this almost always signifies a sexually transmitted disease. In this case, prevention really is better than a cure.
Tips:
- You may abstain from sex.
- If intercourse is unavoidable, wear protection and have a monogamous relationship.
