MCCI to Host 23rd Visayas Area Business Conference

As one of the highlights of the annual Mandaue Business Month (MBM) celebration this year, the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) will host the 23rd Visayas Area Business Conference (VABC) for the first time on August 22 at the New Oakridge Pavillion in Oakridge Business Park in Mandaue City.

The conference, organized under the auspices of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), will banner this year’s theme, “Proudly Filipino: Partnership Towards Sustained Growth.”

Members and representatives of the business community, local government units, youth groups, academe, and non-government organizations from Cebu, Visayas, and Manila are among the expected participants for the VABC.

VABC, an annual instructive gathering of Chambers and Commerce and Industry from Visayas, will be an opportunity for the delegates to share and exchange ideas over pressing issues confronted by the business sectors particularly in Visayas.

The Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the Visayas include Antique Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Capiz Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Guimaras Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry, PCCI- Aklan Chapter Inc., PCCI-Boracay, PCCI-Iloilo, Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc., Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Consolacion Chamber of Commerce and Industry, MCCI, Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Siquijor Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Palompon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, PCCI-Baybay, PCCI-Greater Calbayog Samar, Samar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Southern Leyte Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The conference aims to give participants a chance to learn new innovations, best practices and business opportunities; and also to inspire them from success stories of the speakers.

Speakers include PCCI President Alfredo Yao; Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes; Dr. Vicky Belo of Belo Medical Clinic; Charie Villa of ABS-CBN; Goldilocks Bakeshop marketing director Pinky Yee; economist Cielito Habito; and the Family Business Development Center of the John Gokongwei School of Management of the Ateneo de Manila University director Ricky Mercado.
