JVR Sits as Acting TCC Prexy

While Talisay City Mayor Johnny V. de los Reyes has not yet signed the appointment order of the new Talisay City College president, he temporarily sits as its school head.

“Wa lang sa ko nipirma sa appointment kay gi-clarify lang sa namo kay siya kuno consultant sa UV (University of the Visayas), which ang reality gyud, full-time gyud siya, dean pa gani. Ako lang sa gipa-verify kay masikwate unya ta,” said de los Reyes.

De los Reyes said he sent the letter to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) asking it if it is okay to have Gamaliel Vicente sit as TCC president and at the same time holds office as acting Talisay City engineer and dean of the College of Engineering of UV.

The TCC board of trustees appointed Vicente last month to replace Richel Bacaltos and Paulus Cañete.

Although Vicente claims that he is only a consultant of UV, de los Reyes said he believes he is a full-time dean and teacher there, which could prevent him from doing his job as TCC head.

“Og ma-presidente na siya sa TCC, tulo na unya iyang position. Di kaha siya maglisud ana?” de los Reyes asked.

But de los Reyes said if the CSC says it is okay to have three full-time positions at once, he would bow down to it.
