JVR Warns Talisay City Workers Job Dislocation

Talisay City Mayor Johnny De los Reyes (JVR) warned to dislocate from their present posts all city officials and employees who are not loyal to his administration.

Mayor JVR was a special guest of Tapok Tapok Media Forum at Cebu Business Hotel along corner Colon and Junquera streets, Cebu City Friday morning who issued the warning following reports that there are some department heads and regular employees who are apparently supporters of the past administration and open in their criticisms against him.

“Kanang pag-ingon nga ang among mayor way dakong grado ug dili kamao, dako kaayong insulto kanako ug sa mayoridad sa katawhan sa Talisay nga mituboy kanako sa pagkamayor sa maong siyudad”, JVR said.

To show that he is really the mayor and he should be deserved to be respected, he created an intelligence group within the city hall to strictly monitor good and bad gossips from among all city hall workers, JVR said.

Anybody who will be found to have bitterness against the mayor and issued personal or political critics to him and his administration will be immediately investigated.

JVR said if proven guilty, regardless of the length of his or her service , he or she should be transferred to another job which might be different from what he or she is supposed to be doing until he retires as an official or ordinary worker.

But he promised not to terminate anybody especially those with civil service eligibility, except if they will commit heavy abuses against his administration, JVR said.

This is to instill to all personnel’s minds that mayor JVR has all the capacity to implement the law if he wants just to give lessons to all his detractors, he said.

The said principle is also adopted by his son, John Yre De los Reyes , the Talisay City administrator.

“Just the other day I transferred a city hall worker to the garbage section because he was proven to have issued some criticism to the mayor”, John Yre told.

Mayor JVR is open for his policy that he wants all city hall workers to support him and his administration in Talisay.

But because there are those who could not easily change their minds, “the reason why I will make some disciplinary actions and whoever will hit will really be hit”, JVR said.

However the moment they will change their behavior and instead show their big respect in me, then I will really treat them as my sons and daughters, JVR added.

Everybody at the city hall already witnessed the reshuffling made by JVR few days after he took oath as Talisay City mayor.

“Bus sad to note that until now there are still workers who still underestimated my leadership which is a big insult on my part”, JVR added.
