CONTINUING REGISTRATION
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) opens on May 6 the registration of voters for the May 6, 2016 National and Local Elections which will run until October 31, 2015.
With the opening of the poll registration, registrants form long queues Tuesday morning at the local Comelec office along Osmeña Blvd, Cebu City. The Comelec calls all unregistered qualified voters to register and exercise their right to vote but more importantly, the election body focuses on having the biometrics data of all registered voters by the end of the poll registration pursuant to RA 10367 ( The mandatory biometrics voter registration). Registered voters whose biometrics have not yet been captured are invited to submit themselves for validation before their office in order to vote for the 2016 polls.
The Comelec local offices will now be open every Sunday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm to accommodate more registrants. Accessing information regarding voter registration is also made easier by making available in the Comelec website all laws, resolutions and other guidelines pertaining to voter registration.
