Davide to Uphold MOA on Third Bridge
Governor Hilario Davide III may want to respect the idea of former Congressman Eduardo Gullas to have Cebu’s third bridge in Talisay but he said the province is bound to honor the memorandum of agreement on the said project.
“We respect the opinion of former Congressman Gullas….but we are bound by that MOA,” he said.
Davide said what contractor Metro Pacific will be doing is to study if it is feasible to have the third bridge in Cebu City from Mactan Island.
From there, the city and provincial governments will decide to take their next action, which is to have the third bridge in said areas, that is, if the study says it is feasible, he said.
“Naay MOA with metro pacific, ato sang tan-awon which one is really feasible jud,” Davide said.
Davide finds the bridge from Mactan to Talisay City “longer” than the two existing bridges, but if there is a study that supports its feasibility, it might be possible to have that kind of access.
“Former Congressman Gulas wants it sa Talisay, but taas-taas man na. But let’s see. I can’t make a judgment until study sa Metro Pacific (is done),” he said.
He said, for now, the objective is to have a third access from Lapu-Lapu City to decongest the vehicle traffic.
