Highest Priority
What should be my highest priority?
“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” Mark 12:29-30
“And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?” Deuteronomy 10:12-13
When God is at the center of your life, you will make your relationship with Him your highest priority. He will be the first in the decisions that you need to make. He is “all” of you! You will long to spend time in prayer and in reading the Bible. Your thoughts will often turn to God. You will want to please Him. The more you love God, the more your heart will long to be closer to His. There’s a saying, “He is either your Lord of all or not at all”. It’s either of it, not “either/or”.
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Luke 12:34
