Police Retains Full Alert Status
The Regional Police Office(PRO)7 on Sunday said that full alert status still remains in the whole province of Cebu after the Sinulog Grand Parade yesterday.
According to PRO7 head, Chief Supt. Danilo Constantino, the success of yesterday’s Sinulog Festival 2014 could be credited to the full cooperation of the public to the police authorities who manned and controlled the crowd.
However, Constantino added that the full alert status still remains in order to secure the people especially to those coming from the different provinces.
Constantino added that aside from the people who are just residing here in the city, there are more who came from the municipalities of Cebu province and neighboring areas who ought to be protected, so that they will return safely and peacefully to their respective homeland.
Constantino also indicated that big maps are important to guide all people the exit point once they are already at the grand stand.
He said that he will recommend that the said maps be installed in the grandstand on next year’s Sinulog Festival.
He said that these maps will be placed in areas that can be easily seen by the crowd.
Based on his observation, Constantino said that it’s better to have a lone exit point rather than to have more adding that yesterday’s three exit points have brought confusion to the people watching the Sinulog dancers at the grand stand.
