PNP on Full Alert
Effective Friday the Philippine National Police (PNP) was ordered to be on the full heightened alert status in preparation for the incoming Christmas and New Year celebrations.
PNP Chief Alan Purisima however said that under this status, all PNP Regional Directors have their respective prerogative if they are to implement a full alert status on their respective areas of jurisdiction.
Purisima explained that he is giving the full authority to the regional chiefs because they know the real peace and order status of their area of jurisdiction.
A command conference for all regional directors and other PNP officials was called on Friday wherein each concerned officials have rendered their reports regarding the security measures they implemented in their respective jurisdiction in relation to the coming celebrations of Christmas and New Year.
In Region 7, Regional Director Danilo Constantino strictly implemented the full heightened alert status in the four provinces of the region.
Constantino, however said that if it is necessary to implement the full alert status, there is no reason for him not to do it.
Region 7 is composed of four provinces namely, Bohol, Negros Oriental, Cebu and Siquijor.
