Hotel Elizabeth Donates to Typhoon Yolanda Victims
Not to be exempted in the ongoing country and global-wide relief aid on the aftermath of the super typhoon Yolanda (international name Haiyan), Hotel Elizabeth Cebu, through its Jesus and Elizabeth Fernando Foundation, initiated a relief effort for the typhoon victims.
120,000 food packs containing two kilos of rice, noodles, and six sardines each were repacked for Leyte. Volunteers who are employees from the Fersal Hotel Group (operator of Hotel Elizabeth Cebu), family and relatives of the owners helped in the repacking, which took three days, spanning from 9 a.m. to 12 midnight.
They went to Isabel, Leyte yesterday to give the relief goods.

“Everyday we wake up from our comfortable bed and can have a cup of tea then we watch the typhoon victims on TV that they don’t have anything to eat… That is why we organized this…We really want to extend our help to those typhoon victims…,” said Elizabeth Salonga Fernando, chief executive officer of Hotel Elizabeth Cebu.
Apart from Leyte, the Fersal Hotel Group will also be donating to Coron, Palawan where 200 sacks of rice and 6,000 linens will be given to the victims there, while another P1M will be donated to the Bohol earthquake victims.
“Hotel Elizabeth is not only a hotel of luxury. It’s not about profit or business, but we want to share what we have,” said Eric Go, marketing head.
The group is set to have another relief operation on December 15 in Palawan.
Hotel Elizabeth is also present in Baguio and Coron Island, Palawan. Its other hotels in Metro Manila are under the name of Fersal Hotel.
Its Cebu hotel is celebrating its third year anniversary and thus the activities: a ‘Royal Run’, relief operations to typhoon and earthquake-stricken victims. Hotel Elizabeth Baguio meanwhile, turned eight and organized the 1st Royal Golf Tournament.
Hotel Elizabeth Cebu turned over its donation to the San Pedro Calungsod Foundation worth P85,000 during its press conference last Thursday for their anniversary’s run. The amount was the proceeds of the run last year.
