LGUs to Head for Northern Cebu to Distribute Relief
After Talisay City, at least 14 local government units in Cebu are scheduled to distribute calamity reliefs in the northern Cebu affected by super typhoon “Yolanda.”
“Mga 14 mayors na ang willing motabang sa 12 ka towns nga affected sa bagyo,” said City of Naga Mayor Valdemar Chiong, adding that they came out with that resolution after an informal gathering early this week.
Chiong said there will be a long convoy of vehicles carrying relief goods and volunteers when they visit Sogod, Borbon, Tabogon, Bogo City, Medellin, Daanbantayan, the towns of the islands of Bantayan and Camotes. He said they are scheduled to go to these Yolanda-ravaged towns on Tuesday.
The City of Naga, for its part, has allocated P100,000 worth of goods to every affected town. The funds was from the P1.2 million aid released by the city following the City Council’s approval.
