Zoraida Weakened to LPA, Storm Warning Signals Lifted
PAGASA, in its 3:30 pm weather bulletin on Tuesday said tropical depression Zoraida has weakened to a low pressure area (LPA), prompting the lifting of public storm warning signals in all areas, Gma news online said.
At 2:00 pm Tuesday, Zoraida was spotted in San Francisco, Agusan Del Sur but authorities said it might gain strength as it passes through water. Heavy rain is still expected in central and eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and northern Mindanao in the next six to 12 hours, Gma news online said.
Authorities said the weather is expected to slowly improve in most of Mindanao on Wednesday. But based on the data of Weather Central, the Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN, and northern Mindanao might experience up to moderate rains.
The online news said heavy rain will be experienced in Visayas, especially in its eastern and central sections, and in Palawan, where Zoraida is expected to make landfall again.
Moderate rain and cloudy skies are expected in some parts of southern Luzon, while light rain is expected in central and northern Luzon due to Amihan. Four-meter waves are expected in the northern seaboard of northern Luzon and the eastern seaboard of Luzon. Fisherfolk using small seacraft are advised not to set sail in said areas, GMA news online reported.
