Celebrate the holiday season by deepening bonds between family and friends and forging memorable experiences in Singapore.

Singapore promises to be an unforgettable getaway for friends, couples, and families who are seeking excitement and sharing meaningful experiences along the way, with a host of remarkable events lined up this fourth quarter of 2013. With happenings such as the much anticipated Christmas on A Great Street, and year-end celebration Marina Bay Singapore Countdown, Singapore is inviting visitors to share a one-of-a-kind experience with you this holiday season.

“The holidays are a perfect time for Filipinos to travel and spend quality time with their families, friends and loved ones. With several exciting events and celebrations about to hit the streets of the Lion City, there is no better time to discover new experiences and forge new memories together with your loved ones,” said Sherina Chan, Singapore Tourism Board Area director for the Philippines and Brunei.

For an exquisite culinary encounter, couples can savor a mouthwatering experience during the Singapore Restaurant Week happening from October 7 to 13, where several of the city’s top restaurants will roll out exclusive three-course menus at P825++ onwards, or indulge in international fine wines at the Singapore Wine Fiesta 2013 on October 31 to November 3, held at the charming Customs House by Marina Bay. With over 200 labels from all over the world to sample, this wine affair will have them celebrating the moment with over 60 renowned international winemakers.

With Christmas just around the corner, Singapore marks the 30th anniversary of Christmas on A Great Street from November 23, 2013 to January 5, 2014. As part of its annual tradition, Singapore’s President, Tony Tan, will join the countdown ceremonies at the Orchard Road on November 23.  Sing a Christmas jingle together with your loved ones as you stroll under the 2.2km of the ‘World’s Best Holiday Lights,’ according to Frommer’s.  On Christmas day, Orchard Road will feature a parade of beautifully-designed floats and an evening concert showcasing local and international performing groups to celebrate Christmas in solidarity with the world.

Singapore ushers in 2014 by inviting Filipinos to pen their hopes for the New Year on wishing spheres stationed around the city during December. 20,000 wishing spheres, reflecting the contemplative and inspiring nature of the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown celebrations on December 31, will be set afloat in Marina Bay accompanied by music performances and a breathtaking fireworks display. Alternatively, partygoers can dance their hearts out with non-stop tunes from world-class DJs at the year-end Siloso Beach Party, also on December 31.

Ultimate Bonding Ideas

In between the pulsating events, Singapore has also other activities where Filipinos can have an experiential time with their loved ones. Friends, couples and families have the option to discover many special moments at Gardens by the Bay, explore the new and only river-themed wildlife park in Asia at the River Safari, or enjoy the water theme park of Adventure Cove Waterpark™.

To those who want to escape the hustle of the city, Filipinos can take a stroll at the Gardens by the Bay and be captivated by an amazing floral display. Featuring a 30-meter high waterfall and a beautiful lake, the Gardens is an awe-inspiring green space that houses a collection of more than 250 thousand rare plants. On foot or by the Garden Cruiser tram, you can also bask at the glory of the Gardens’ structural feat—winning the World Building of the Year Award at the World Architectural Festival.

Filipinos who love to get close to wildlife on the other hand, can head over to the River Safari and visit Singapore’s very own giant pandas Kai Kai and Jia Jia and marvel at the exotic freshwater animals. Asia’s first and only river-themed wildlife park, the safari is home to over 150 plant species and 5,000 animals including red pandas, Chinese giant salamanders and Mekong giant catfish. Wander in awe also through the world’s eight famous rivers like River Nile of Egypt and the Mississippi River and capture photo-taking moments with the wildlife in their natural habitats. Before you leave, surprise your child with a Kai Kai or Jia Jia panda toy for Christmas.

For those who want to soak themselves under the sun meanwhile, Adventure Cove Waterpark™ is the right the right place to be as it promises endless splashes of fun—from zooming down thrilling waterslides such as the Southeast Asia’s first hydro-magnetic coaster, to journeying along the Adventure River and even wading amongst dozens of stingrays.

“Whatever the occasion, whether a family vacation, romantic getaway or a barkada trip, Singapore promises to bring out the most unforgettable of experiences that will last a lifetime’s worth of reminiscing, for our beloved Filipino travelers, this holiday season,” shared Chan.
