Another Warrant vs 58 Drivers
The court has issued additional bench warrants against 58-more drivers of passenger jeepneys and privately-owned vehicles who just ignored the Traffic Citation Tickets (TCT) that were issued to them by the traffic enforcers.
This brought to 92 the total number of drivers who had been ordered arrested by virtue of bench warrants issued by Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC) Judge Monanila Tecson.
Eight of the initial batch of 32 drivers who had been issued bench warrants by the court had been arrested already by a joint team of policemen from the Traffic Group and City Traffic Operations Management (CITOM).
Of the eight drivers, one of them is a Cebu City Hall employee, who just ignored the citation tickets issued to him after he was apprehended for committing over 300 traffic violations.
“Sa 58 nga additional batch sa mga drayber nga naisyuhan og bench warrants usa kanila nadakpan sa pagpanabako samtang nagmaneho sa sakyanan,” said Joy Tumulak, the operations officer of the City Traffic Operations Management (CITOM).
A team of policemen from the Cebu City Traffic Group under Superintendent Rey Tiempo has been organized to run after the drivers with bench warrants.
Tumulak said some of the drivers had stopped driving their old units and probably transferred to another route to avoid being apprehended.
“Pero madakpan gihapon na kay ang atong mga traffic enforcer gibalhin-balhin man gihapon nato pagdistino ug mailhan ra sila. Ang maayo nga mosurender na lang sila,” Tumulak said.
