City Savings Bank (CitySavings), the thrift bank subsidiary of the Aboitiz-led Union Bank of the Philippines (UnionBank), reaffirms its Bangko ng Barangay vision as it achieved new milestones in 2025 with the opening of five new locations across Luzon and a strategic branch upgrade in the Visayas.
Focused on its goal to be the leading mass market bank, CitySavings inaugurated three new full branches in Malolos City, Bulacan; Paniqui, Tarlac; and Gapan City, Nueva Ecija; two new branch lite units in Cataingan, Masbate; and Sipocot, Camarines Sur; and upgraded its former branch lite in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental to a full service branch during the 4th quarter of 2025.
A High-Tech, High-Touch Experience
The new branches feature the Bank’s latest digital transformation initiatives combined with CitySavings’ brand of warm and helpful service, creating a high-tech, high-touch experience at every level of customer interaction.
Empowering the Mass Market
Beyond teachers’ salary loans, CitySavings is advancing financial inclusion by serving other mass market segments, including government employees, pensioners, and motorcycle owners. The Bank introduced enhanced deposit products to encourage saving and investing among its borrowers and potential customers.
“Our branch expansion goes beyond just numbers; as we grow, we aim to be the Bangko ng Barangay, reaching out to the mass market, offering innovative banking services in the communities we operate. Our new locations will enable customers to experience simple and straightforward banking not only through our digital channels but also in our more than 150 physical branches nationwide,” said CitySavings President and CEO Manuel Santiago, Jr.
