P8-Billion ‘Sugartown’ Township to Rise Near Bacolod-Silay Airport
Property giant Megaworld is set to transform the landscape of Talisay City with the development of its newest township, The Sugartown. Spanning 97 hectares along the Bacolod-Silay Airport Road, this ambitious project marks Megaworld’s 37th township nationwide and its third in Negros Occidental, following the success of Northill Gateway and The Upper East.
The Sugartown is envisioned as a comprehensive mixed-use estate, combining premium residential communities, commercial and retail hubs, and a vibrant town center. It will also feature a dedicated commercial district and unique tourism facilities designed to highlight the cultural and economic strengths of Negros Occidental. Megaworld has earmarked P8 billion for the township’s development over the next 7 to 10 years, underscoring its long-term commitment to the province’s growth.
“With its close proximity to the Bacolod-Silay Airport, this will be an exciting destination for visitors and tourists, and a vibrant enclave for residential living,” said Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso, President and CEO of Megaworld. Echoing this vision, Kevin Tan, President and CEO of Alliance Global Group, Inc., emphasized the township’s role in driving regional progress, “Through this new township, our seventh in the Visayas, we are excited how we can further contribute to regional progress especially in tourism.”
The Sugartown’s location offers unmatched accessibility. It is less than five minutes away from the Bacolod-Silay Airport and the Talisay City Hall, around 15 minutes from the Bacolod City Government Center, and just a short drive from Megaworld’s other townships, five minutes from Northill Gateway and 12 minutes from The Upper East. This strategic positioning ensures seamless connectivity for residents, businesses, and tourists alike.
