SSS Expands Reach with E-Wheels in Bantayan Island
In a move to enhance accessibility to social security services, the Social Security System (SSS) extended its E-Wheels program to Bantayan Island, Cebu. The two-day initiative covered the municipalities of Sta. Fe, Bantayan, and Madridejos, all under the jurisdiction of the SSS Bogo Branch.
SSS Bogo Branch Head Mr. William Penserga highlighted the regular inclusion of Bantayan Island in their E-Wheels schedule, citing the geographical challenges faced by the locals in reaching the nearest SSS branch.
“While Bogo City office remains the closest SSS branch to Bantayan Island, it is still approximately 50 kilometers away from Bantayan Island. To address this gap, we have implemented a regular ‘SSS E-Wheels’ schedule to ensure that residents continue to have convenient access to our services,” Penserga said.

Social Security System (SSS) Bogo branch personnel assist residents with their SSS transactions through the E-Wheels at the Bantayan Sports Complex.
SSS Bogo branch facilitated 915 transactions from the three municipalities. Penserga said the services offered include member registration, member inquiry and verification, online benefit and loan applications, Annual Confirmation of Pensioners (ACOP) compliance, registration to the Disbursement Account Enrollment Module (DAEM), and updating of SSS records.
Meanwhile, SSS Acting Vice President for Visayas Central 1 Division Eric A. Coronado assured the public of the agency’s commitment to serve its members, especially those in remote areas, ensuring that distance is no longer a hindrance to availing SSS benefits and services.
“The SSS is constantly looking for ways to bridge the gap between its services and its members. Aside from bringing our services online, which provides more convenience to our members, we also have our ‘SSS E-Wheels’ programs to make our services more accessible. Here in Cebu and Bohol, we have a regular E-Wheels schedule, prioritizing remote areas in the two provinces,” Coronado concluded.
As of April 2025, the SSS Visayas Central 1 Division has recorded 175 E-Wheels activities across Cebu and Bohol, serving over 16,500 walk-in transactions.
