Skytrax Names Doha’s Hamad International Airport as World’s Best Airport for 2024

Doha’s Hamad International Airport was awarded the World’s Best Airport for 2024 at the World Airport Awards in Frankfurt, Germany, last April 17, 2024.

Qatar Airways Group CEO, Eng. Badr Al Meer expressed appreciation for recognizing the dedication of the airport’s staff in delivering excellent passenger accommodation.

“This year HIA celebrates its milestone tenth year of operations and we are truly honoured that passengers have voted us Best Airport in the World for a third time. We are also delighted to bring home the top awards for Best Airport Shopping and the Best Airport in the Middle East for the second consecutive and tenth time respectively. Skytrax prestigious awards reflect the dedication of our employees who every day help innovating and maintaining our leading position,” Al Meer said.

Hamad International Airport was also named as World’s Best Airport Shopping and Best Airport in the Middle East.

12-time winner and last year’s World’s Best Airport of the Year, Singapore Changi Airport finished second in this year’s awards and was also named Best Airport in Asia and the World’s Best Airport Immigration Service.

Seoul Incheon Airport was third place in the global survey rankings and was named the World’s Most Family Friendly Airport for 2024.

Tokyo Haneda Airport claimed the fourth spot in the global rankings and also claimed multiple awards such as the World’s Cleanest Airport, the World’s Best Domestic Airport, and the World’s Best Airport PRM & Accessible Facilities.

Other notable winners included Tokyo Narita Airport for customer service and Rome Fiumicino Airport for airport security processing.

In the European region, Munich Airport won the Best Airport Staff Service and Best Airport in Central Europe.

Meanwhile, in Africa, Cape Town Airport and Durban King Shaka Airport were also recognized for their excellence, with Cape Town being named Best Airport in Africa.

In North America, Vancouver International Airport was awarded as the Best Airport once again, while Dallas Fort Worth Airport was recognized as the Best Airport Staff Service in North America.

Melbourne Airport remained the Best Airport in Australia & Pacific.
